About The Cozy Journal
The Cozy Journal started with a brick-and-mortar focus. A store where customers could browse, discover, and experience stationery in person before bringing it home.
That first location opened in 2023, in a small vendor booth inside Painted Tree Boutiques in Midlothian, VA. By 2025, The Cozy Journal had expanded to five additional vendor booths in Sterling, VA; Glen Allen, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; Cary, NC; and Raleigh, NC. Each location measured less than 150 square feet, yet together they introduced thousands of customers to thoughtfully curated stationery and journaling supplies.
As the business grew, so did the desire for a permanent home - one close to where the owners lived and rooted in the community they served. After more than a year of searching, the right space finally appeared. In March 2026, The Cozy Journal signed the lease for its flagship storefront in Carytown, Richmond, Virginia.
The Cozy Journal is a stationery shop selling journals and notebooks, ephemera, stamps, stickers, washi tape, and so much more.
